I did the normal optimize drive through the disk defrag in win 10 and checked cmd for “fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify” and set it was set to 0 so that would mean its on, yet nothing seems to register that it is. I’m running the latest firmware I could find B35500WD.Ĭhecking CrystalDiskMark TRIM also seems to be missing in the list. So, what i'm understanding is that the drives are SATA 3 6GB/s from seagate but HP installed firmware to "dumb them down" to SATA 2 3GB/s? WHAT THE HECK!? Why would they do that!? Kinda sucks that I had paid for SATA 3 and got SATA 2 from just finished building my new rig and made sure I bought a M2 SSD that supported TRIM so I bought myself a WD Black PCIe 256GB because I love how well it keeps them running and according to it should work just fine but in my WD Dashboard v2.2.0.1 TRIM is greyed out and there is no way to turn it on. For these reasons, Seagate offers no firmware support for OEM hard drives. Also, providing standard firmware for OEM hard drives may violate the legal agreements Seagate has with OEM companies. Flashing an OEM drive with standard (non-specialized) firmware can permanently damage the hard drive. These OEM drives usually have specialized OEM firmware. However, sometimes, these servers or computers are disassembled and the hard drives end up being sold separately from third-party re sellers or online vendors such as eBay. These drives are sold as part of a larger piece of equipment such as a server, a PC, or notebook computer. Some Seagate drives bear the Seagate name and logo, but they are actually the property of an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), such as Dell or Hewlett-Packard (HP), and might have specialized firmware. Thank you for contacting Seagate Support. I had contacted Seagate just to see if it could be my drives, heres the reply I purchased my M.2 drive about 4 months ago and its already down to 98% life remaining so I want to try to reduce wear on that as much as possible. Most people wouldn't think its that big of a deal using SATA 2 instead of SATA 3 but for me, its what most of my games and software are installed to and there's a large difference going from 100+mbps to 400+mbps in RAID. Im stumped and the only thing I can think of is to backup everything and wipe all drives and start with a fresh windows. I used CrystalDiskInfo and f ound the S/N for the drives, which according to seagate the drives are SATA 3 6GB/s. EaseUS Partition Master and a few other HDD diagnostic apps haven't found any bad sectors but when I used CrystalDiskInfo it showed a "CAUTION" for both drives on #05 Reallocated Sectors Count. I had deleted the RAID in the BIOS and the individual drives are still SATA 2 speeds of 3GB/s. I tried different ways to access the IRST by pressing CTRL+ I before boot, just after it boots, after the system beep during boot, repeatedly spammed CTRL+ I while booting etc. I tried the BIOS reset, BIOS downgrade, installed new SATA 6 cables. I had tried everything you said without any change. Now, can you enter in the IRST Option ROM by keeping pressed during boot? What speed for HDD (6G b/s)? M-Flash should start be cautious to not abort it before the end (can last up to 5mn). Click on M-Flash then select the file on the USB pen. Plug the USB pen into one port on the back panel (better to use a 2.0). Unzip it and copy the file "E7977IMS.1G0" on the root of the USB pen. Take an USB pen having no more than 16GB (physical size) with only one partition. "SETTINGS \ Advanced \ Integrated Peripherals \ SATA Mode" = "RAID Mode"Įnable "SETTINGS \ Advanced \ Windows OS Configuration \ Windows 10 WHQL Support" (change only that for the moment).Ģ/ If #1 did not resolve, try to change the SATA cables.ģ/ If #2 did not resolve, downgrade bios to see if it is bug in the current version. (if you have not a jumper cap, use something like a screwdriver but be cautious to touch only the 2 pins of JBAT1) or Power off PSU, unplug the power cord and wait that all mobo's leds light off.
